Banca prevé estabilidad en tasas de interés en El Salvador para 2024

Las tasas de interés en El Salvador se mantendrán estables durante el año 2024 luego de una serie de ajustes registrados en el mercado internacional el año pasado, especialmente en Estados Unidos, donde la Reserva Federal (Fed) implementó diversas alzas para controlar la inflación. Este pronóstico surge en medio de la dependencia del sistema financiero salvadoreño de la liquidez interna, con las remesas desempeñando un papel crucial al permitir a los hogares destinar más dinero al ahorro.

A pesar de los cambios en las tasas de interés de la Fed en 2023, su impacto en la economía salvadoreña se ha visto mitigado, ya que las remesas cerraron el año pasado con un crecimiento del 4.6 %, superando los $8,181 millones, mientras que las exportaciones experimentaron una disminución del 8.7 %, alcanzando $6,498 millones. El mercado internacional permanece atento a la evolución de la inflación en Estados Unidos, lo que podría influir en futuros ajustes de la Fed y, por ende, en las tasas de interés en El Salvador.

El Banco Central de Reserva (BCR) reporta que las tasas de interés para los depósitos oscilan entre 4.74 % y 5.91 %, reflejando una situación de relativa calma en el mercado financiero en el país, en medio de la incertidumbre global. Aunque ha habido variaciones en comparación con el año anterior, se espera que las tasas se mantengan estables a lo largo de 2024, proporcionando un entorno predecible para los consumidores y las empresas en el país.
