Twitter dejará sin seguidores la cuenta de Joe Biden

Joe Biden asumirá el cargo de presidente el 20 de enero y su nueva cuenta de Twitter y la de la Casa Blanca partirán de cero.

A partir del 20 de enero las cuentas oficiales @POTUS y @WhiteHouse se resetearán y volverán a no tener ningún seguidor, empezarán de cero, aseguró un comunicado de Twitter.

Estas, junto a otro buen número de cuentas oficiales, no transferirán sus datos a la nueva administración, a pesar de los deseos del equipo de Joe Biden.

Desde el Partido Demócrata se ha intentado que se transfiriesen los seguidores, pero tras una disputa que ha detallado Wall Street Journal, en Twitter han tomado esa decisión. La medida puede resultar llamativa al compararla con la anterior transición, donde si se mantuvieron los seguidores de Obama en la cuenta de Trump.

Este es un cambio que no ha gustado por las decenas de millones de seguidores que perderá Joe Biden, así como la Casa Blanca, y en The Verge informan que aún quedan cuestiones por detallar al encontrarse “en discusiones en curso con el equipo de transición de Biden sobre una serie de aspectos relacionados con las transferencias de cuentas de la Casa Blanca”.

Desde Twitter se ha aclarado que se avisará a los usuarios que sigan estás cuentas mediante una notificación para que elijan si seguir a la nueva administración si así lo desean, acción que tendrán que hacer de forma manual.

Durante estos últimos cuatro años han cambiado muchas cosas en Twitter y la relación del Gobierno de los Estados Unidos con la red social. Donald Trump ha sido un usuario extremadamente activo y un problema en ocasiones para Twitter, ha utilizado tanto como atacado a la plataforma. Y parece que esto puede estar detrás de la decisión.

Los mensajes privados de Trump quedan en la cuenta y desde Twitter han decidido evitar problemas mediante un nuevo comienzo. Además, se desconoce si desde la actual administración se ha presionado a la empresa para que gestione de este modo el cambio.
