Grecia se une a los países con un nuevo confinamiento

Este miércoles, el país heleno registró 2.646 nuevos contagios, la cifra diaria más alta desde el inicio de la pandemia.
Grecia anuncia un confinamiento de tres semanas por el aumento de casos de coronavirus

El primer ministro de Grecia, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, anunció este jueves un nuevo confinamiento de tres semanas en el país a partir del próximo sábado, informan medios locales.

La medida se implementará a causa del aumento exponencial de los casos de covid-19 en los últimos días, que provocó una sobrecarga en el sistema de salud heleno. Mitsotakis precisó que el confinamiento no será exactamente igual que el de primavera, ya que “un cambio importante será la apertura de escuelas primarias, jardines de infancia y colegios de educación especial”.

Además, el jefe de Gobierno griego anunció un paquete de medidas para ayudar a trabajadores y desempleados. Los trabajadores suspendidos de empleo por este período de tiempo recibirán 800 euros (944 dólares) a principios de diciembre, mientras que todas las prestaciones de desempleo se prorrogarán por dos meses más y los parados de larga duración (se estima que su número alcanza los 130.000) recibirán un pago único de 400 euros (472 dólares).

El miércoles, Grecia registró 2.646 nuevas infecciones de coronavirus, el número diario de casos más alto desde el comienzo de la pandemia. La nación suma ya 46.892 positivos y 673 muertos a causa de la enfermedad.
