Todo listo en Windsor para la boda real

 

La seguridad en el poblado de Windsor se ha reforzado antes de la boda del príncipe Enrique y la actriz estadunidense Meghan Markle este sábado, con unos 30 mil efectivos policiacos desplegados en las calles.
El despliegue es notorio en ese poblado de unos 210 mil habitantes, que ha tenido que adoptar medidas como exigir una identificación personal a quienes residen en la calle por la que pasará el carruaje de los novios.
Policía montada, soldados y efectivos policiales participarán en el operativo para resguardar la seguridad de los recién casados, en Windsor, poblado localizado 38 kilómetros al oeste de Londres.
La pareja eligió el Castillo de Windsor para celebrar su enlace matrimonial, al que asistirán 800 invitados.
Sin embargo, la pareja decidió no invitar a jefes de Estado y de gobierno, y ni siquiera la primera ministra Theresa May fue invitada a la boda.
El enlace ha sido calificado por la prensa británica como “la boda del pueblo” debido a que los prometidos decidieron invitar a mil 200 personas del público a las áreas comunes del Castillo de Windsor.
Entretanto, en las afueras del castillo, construido por Guillermo el Conquistador en el siglo XI, un grupo de personas acampa desde hace días para ver a los recién casados.
La australiana Carleen dijo a Notimex que pernoctó el jueves en la principal calle del centro con la esperanza de ver a los novios en su carruaje.
“He asistido a ocho bodas reales, desde la princesa Diana y el príncipe Carlos y también la de los príncipes Eduardo y Alberto, la princesa Ana, el príncipe Guillermo y Kate, así como la del príncipe Carlos con Camila en 2005”, señaló la fan de la realeza.
Señaló que espera que el matrimonio entre el príncipe Enrique y la actriz Meghan Markle “perdure”, pero “tengo mis dudas” debido a la constante atención de los medios.
Los prometidos eligieron la Capilla de San Jorge en el Castillo de Windsor para la ceremonia religiosa, en la que se han realizado enlaces de reyes y reinas desde 1863 cuando el rey Eduardo VII se casó con la princesa Alexandra de Dinamarca, la primera gran boda real.
