El padre de Ben Affleck culpa a Hollywood de los problemas con el alcohol del actor

En marzo del año pasado, Ben Affleck compartió un comunicado público a través de su cuenta de Facebook en el que se sinceraba acerca de sus problemas con la bebida y explicaba que había completado con éxito su paso por rehabilitación. Ahora, su padre ha señalado como culpable -al menos en parte- del alcoholismo de su famoso hijo a la presión derivada de su fama y su carrera en la meca del cine, poniendo como ejemplo el caso de su otro hijo, Casey, que también se ha visto obligado a lidiar con sus adicciones a lo largo de los años, para apoyar su teoría.

“Es una situación que le ha pasado factura a mis dos hijos. Hollywood es un lugar asqueroso. Creo que eso ha jugado un papel fundamental en el alcoholismo de Ben. Es como si te vieras obligado a crear todo un personaje del que resulta imposible desprenderse cuando te vas a casa con tu familia. Afecta a todas las facetas de tu vida, me parece que ese es uno de los aspectos más peligrosos de la industria cinematográfica”, declara Timothy en una entrevista a Grazia, en la que también recuerda su propia relación de dependencia con el alcohol.

“Yo mismo padecí un alcoholismo crónico y muy grave durante años. Tuve que ir a rehabilitación y afortunadamente pude recuperarme. Ben siempre se ha tomado muy en serio su rehabilitación, de eso no hay duda. Quiero encontrar el equilibrio en su vida y está trabajando muy duro para conseguirlo”.

En opinión de Timothy, el matrimonio de Ben Affleck con Jennifer Garner, que llegó a su fin en 2015, también se resintió debido a la agenda profesional del actor y cineasta.

“Resulta muy complicado compaginar la familia con un estatus de estrella. Es un estilo de vida duro y agotador”, reconoce sin querer entrar a dar más detalles.
