The Punisher hace su aparición en Netflix este viernes


Nadie contaba, cuando se anunció el megaplan “Defensores” de Marvel y Netflix, que habría sitio para spin-offs “improvisados”. Pero llegó la segunda temporada de ‘Daredevil’, con la llegada de El Castigador, y su éxito fue tan arrollador y su presencia tan abrumadora que no pudieron decir que no a la idea de darle una serie propia. Así, el próximo viernes la plataforma estrena ‘The Punisher’, donde volvemos a ver a Jon Bernthal enfundado de negro en su camino de destrucción.

He de reconocer que tenía muchas dudas con ‘The Punisher’. Dudas que venían sobre todo por el declive de calidad que observamos en las últimas series de Marvel. ‘Luke Cage’ no terminó de convencer a muchos de sus espectadores mostrando un entorno mucho más interesante que la historia en sí; ‘Iron Fist’ es un despropósito aburrido y desnortado; y ‘Los Defensores’ tenía sus buenos momentos pero, por lo general, no terminaron entregar el gran colofón de acción prometido.
Estas dudas se disiparon tras el primer episodio. ‘The Punisher’ es buena serie. Steve Lightfoot, su guionista jefe, ha hecho muy buen trabajo para que podamos ver, por fin, una gran versión de El Castigador en la pantalla. Con sus fallos y con los síntomas que presentan todas las ficciones de Marvel/Netflix, incluyendo esa narración descomprimida que hace que el número de episodios sea claramente superior al que necesita la trama para desarrollarse adecuadamente, pero con un espíritu renovado.
