El sector cafetalero pide seguridad efectiva de parte del gobierno para proteger a caficultores, jornaleros y a la producción de café, ya que los robos y las extorsiones los afectan seriamente aseguran representantes del sector.
Por su parte el presidente de la Junta Departamental de Santa Ana de la Asociación Cafetalera de El Salvador (ACAFESAL), José Amilcar Vega Magaña, insistió que el gobierno debe brindar seguridad, pero además priorizar el tema del café.
“Tenemos serias dificultades, el tema delincuencial afecta a todos los sectores productivos del país, los productores muchas veces no pueden ir a sus fincas o están renteados o amenazados”, señaló José Amilcar Vega Magaña, Presidente de la Junta Departamental de Santa Ana de la Asociación Cafetalera de El Salvador.
En este sentido, el cafetalero cuestiona que el gobierno no esté brindando la seguridad que necesita el país para progresar productivamente.
Apenas 1,500 efectivos de la Policía Rural tratan de dar seguridad, no solo a la zona cafetera, sino también a la cañera, los arrozales, y a toda la comunidad rural, y para que los planes funcionen tienen que coordinarse con las comunidades o sectores productivos, ya que siempre están escasos de recursos materiales y humanos.
Nosotros evaluamos los costos de movilización, los costos de personal tanto de policía, como del ejército, costos de productos y hemos valorado que el costo del plan solo en Morazán es cerca de $97 mil y la producción en el departamento fue de 25,000 quintales, da un resultado de $3.88 de seguridad por quintal”, expone Guevara.
De esos 497 mil que estima Guevara, el sector cafetalero apoya con un 15 % y agrega que entre más el gobierno se comprometa a dar seguridad la situación mejoraría, ya que entre más producción el costo de seguridad es más bajo.
La policía por su parte exhortó a los caficultores a denunciar amenazas y extorsiones para poder actuar eficazmente, aseguró Miguel Ángel Guerrero Vallecillos, subcomisionado de la PNC.
