UNODC realiza campaña para desapariciones

En este Miercoles que es el Día Internacional de las Víctimas de Desapariciones Forzadas, la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas contra la Droga y el Delito (UNODC) y la Mesa de Diálogo de Niñas, Jóvenes y Mujeres Desaparecidas dieron a conocer la campaña “Alto a las desapariciones”, de las que señalaron al Estado como responsables de las desapariciones durante 2020.

Informaron que se efectuaron 16 órdenes extrajudiciales en contra de militares y policías que han  desaparecido y asesinado a personas.

La Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas declaró el 30 de agosto “Día Internacional de las Víctimas de Desapariciones Forzadas. La sensación de inseguridad que esa práctica genera, no se limita a los parientes próximos del desaparecido, sino afecta a la comunidad y al conjunto de la sociedad, la desaparición forzada se ha convertido en un problema mundial y El Salvador no es la excepción.

Amalia Leiva, representante de COMCAVIS-TRANS, indicó que en la pandemia del COVID-19 las organizaciones observaron un comportamiento nocivo de los cuerpos de seguridad pública, haciendo más grande el abismo de la desaparición, esta tiene factores de todo tipo, no sólo por la violencia, está relacionado con zonas territoriales que históricamente El Salvador ha tenido controladas por el crimen organizado.

“Hago un llamado a ese silencio, al anonimato y clandestinidad en donde están sumergidas la mayoría de las desapariciones hoy por hoy en El Salvador, el silencio del Estado, la indiferencia de las entidades de seguridad pública, Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), PNC y el sistema de Justicia en general. En El Salvador es preocupante que ha invertido en armas, más que en materia de seguridad pública”, expresó.
