Protestan comerciantes informales del Centro Historico

Los comerciantes informales del centro histórico fueron desalojados de la zona, por lo cual, en forma de protesta pacífica cerraron y bloquearon el paso a conductores del transporte público en la avenida Monseñor Romero, a un costado de la Biblioteca Nacional.

Los vendedores del centro capitalino afirmaron que el desalojo fue por medio de la Policía Nacional Civil (PNC), militares y el Cuerpo de Agentes Municipales (CAM) que resguardan los alrededores de Plaza Barrios, Plaza Libertad y Parque Morazán, para evitar que sigan comercializando sus productos.

Se conoció que el reordenamiento en el centro capitalino se debe a la remodelación de la Biblioteca Nacional, por lo cual los comerciantes de esa zona también serán desalojados. Entre los afectados hay vendedores de agua, panes, ropa, frutas y verduras, quienes manifestaron que dicha medida les afecta en su economía, pues al no comercializar sus productos quedan sin la forma de llevar el alimento a sus familias.

La comuna señaló que impulsa el “Plan de Revitalización del Centro Histórico de San Salvador”, que busca garantizar el orden y evitar las aglomeraciones generadas por algunos comerciantes por cuenta propia, que se instalan en los alrededores de las principales plazas en el centro de la ciudad.

El alcalde de San Salvador, Mario Durán, enfatizó que si los casos de Covid muestran una tendencia a disminuir es importante no bajar la guardia, pues la aparición de nuevas cepas y diseminación del virus continúa, por lo cual es necesario seguir implementando protocolos para el cuidado de la salud.

Durán manifestó que seguirán con la entrega de kit de bioseguridad, desinfección de mercados, oficinas administrativas y parada de buses, charlas informativas entre otras, con el propósito de superar la crisis sanitaria generada por el COVID-19.
