Pastor de La Luz del Mundo, será sometido a interrogatorio por más demandas

El “elegido de Dios”, Naasón García será sometido a un interrogatorio por una demanda civil federal en California para el ano 2024, en estas se le acusa de tráfico de personas, trabajo forzado, agresión sexual y más cargos en contra del pastor evangélico.

En un relativamente desconocido litigio civil federal en California, el líder de la iglesia La Luz del Mundo Naasón Joaquín García, será interrogado el próximo lunes por los abogados de una joven exintegrante de su culto que dio a conocer las primeras denuncias de abusos sexuales contra el llamado ‘Apóstol de Jesucristo’ y su padre.

Joaquín García, condenado en un tribunal de Los Ángeles a casi 17 años de cárcel por abusos sexuales de menores, enfrentará la diligencia judicial fuera de corte y a puerta cerrada.

El juicio está señalado para comenzar el 27 de febrero de 2024, según un calendario que el juez Fred Slaughter consignó en el expediente el pasado 1 de septiembre. Se calcula que el juicio demore 20 días, según el documento.

Una audiencia final previa se programó para el 8 de febrero de 2024 y el período para escuchar mociones de ambas partes concluirá el próximo 16 de noviembre.

La discusión sobre la realización del interrogatorio a Joaquín estuvo precedida de fuertes objeciones de sus abogados, que pidieron al juez su anulación porque existe una investigación criminal en curso.

Según documentos aportados al expediente por la defensa, un acusado en un proceso civil puede ser eximido de la deposición si existe una pesquisa criminal.

Por su parte, los abogados de Martin señalaron en el expediente judicial que aquellos pedirían dicha suspensión “solo si la investigación involucraba los mismos hechos y víctimas que en el caso civil”.
