Neymar Jr. jugará dos años con el Al-Hilal

Por un poco más de 90 millones de dólares, el brasileño ha firmado con Arabia Saudita; convirtiéndose en el séptimo jugador que es reclutado para figurar en los escenarios de Medio Oriente.

El astro brasileño llega a Riad procedente del Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) por una operación que rondaría los 90 millones de dólares, además de un jugoso contrato que representaría ganancias de alrededor de 300 millones de dólares por dos años para el ’10’ de la selección brasileña. Con este movimiento, el fútbol de Arabia Saudita ya habría reclutado a más de 7 jugadores con una UEFA Champions League en su palmarés y que son considerados estrellas mundiales entre los aficionados y conocedores del deporte.

“Estoy aquí en Arabia Saudita, yo soy Hilali”, con estas palabras el Al-Hilal anunció el fichaje de Neymar Jr., que después de meses de especulaciones sobre su futuro, dice adiós a la élite del balompié para iniciar una aventura en un destino que en los últimos años se ha convertido en una oportunidad atractiva para decenas de futbolistas, especialmente por los estratosféricos contratos que los equipos árabes pueden ofrecer.

Son las ganancias petroleras del Gobierno saudita las que respaldan el proyecto futbolístico de varios equipos de su liga local, en un esfuerzo de Riad por posicionar su fútbol en las luminarias mundiales y consagrar también un papel estelar en el control de uno de los negocios deportivos más redituables en la actualidad, siendo que el país ha llegado a expresar su deseo de albergar la Copa Mundial de Fútbol del 2030.

Hace unos años, el fútbol en Arabia Saudita representaba un destino exótico para aquellos jugadores veteranos que buscaban un destino cómodo y redituable para su retiro, sin embargo, con el impulso del Estado saudita a las finanzas de los clubes, estos ahora son capaces de reclutar futbolistas como Neymar Jr.
