‘Bosque torcido’: cuando la naturaleza cautiva con su inquietante belleza

Desde la Amazonía, hasta los bosques de Tailandia, todos los parajes boscosos poseen una belleza extraordinaria que cuando nos adentramos en los detalles terminan por sorprendernos de mil maneras. Pero cuando uno se empapa con la singularidad de cada región de bosque en el globo terráqueo, la excentricidad se hace presente. Entre los bosques más extraños a la par que asombrosos, está el ‘bosque torcido’ en Polonia.

El lugar le hacer honor a su nombre, y es que en este pequeño bosque ubicado al oeste de Polonia muy cerca de la frontera con Alemania, la extrañeza cobra vida. La arboleda está conformada por aproximadamente 100 seres arbóreos sumamente distintos de los que se pueden hallar en otras regiones. El más alto apenas si roza los 15 metros de altura, pero no es en los cielos donde se encuentra su más grande peculiaridad. Por el contrario, es en la base donde los troncos de cada árbol del bosque se inclinan en un arco violento, justo antes de enderezar de nuevo su trayectoria hacia las alturas.

Los troncos de los árboles se tuercen de manera dramática en la base, dándole un aspecto fuera de esta realidad. Muchos han comparado la forma de sus troncos con la letra J o con un signo de interrogación. Como quiera que sea, los arcos formados por el tronco apuntan todos por igual hacia el norte y nadie sabe exactamente por qué sucede esto. La singularidad presente en estos seres arbóreos le ha valido al lugar el título del ‘bosque torcido’. Actualmente el bosque se localiza en Polonia, muy cerca de la ciudad de Gryfino, en la frontera con Alemania. Aunque se cree que en el momento en que se plantaron estos árboles, a principios de 1930, la región todavía pertenecía a la provincia alemana de Pomerania.
