Multa de $57.14 por parquear carros en aceras y ejes preferenciales

Muchos peatones se ven obligados a caminar en la calles, porque las aceras son utilizadas por algunos automovilistas para parquear sus carros o motociletas, con lo que se pone en riesgo la vida de las personas.

Por ese motivo, la División de Tránsito Terrestre de la PNC, a través del Departamento de Control Vehicular, puso en marcha una un plan verificar que los espacios propios para los transeúntes no sean utilizados para otros fines.

Agentes de tránsito verificaron en la Avenida Bernal en el tramo que comprende desde la calle al Volcán hasta la calle San Antonio Abad, que las aceras y ejes preferenciales estuvieran despejados; sin embargo, se llevaron una sorpresa cuando vieron que muchos carros y motos estaban estacionados en estas áreas exclusivas de los peatones.

De acuerdo con la Ley de Tránsito Terrestre y Seguridad Vial, el articulo 118, le da facultad a la policía de Tránsito a decomisar vehículos que obstruyan aceras y ejes preferenciales, y queda a discreción solo decomisar placas; como ocurrió en esta oportunidad.

El jefe del Departamento de Control Vehicular, subcomisionado Alex Lemus, explicó que la infracción es de $57.14 y es considerada una falta muy grave. El jefe policial agregó que los dueños de estos vehículos, aparte de pagar la multa, deben ir al Viceministerio de Transporte (VMT) a tramitar la devolución de las placas de los automotores En una hora aproximadamente, fueron decomisadas 30 placas de vehículos.

Con respecto a los negocios que ocupan las aceras como parqueo, el subcomisionado señaló que los propietarios de esos lugares deben solicitar un permiso al VMT y dejar libre al menos un metro de acera. Esta mañana, solo se les hizo un llamado a los propietarios de estos comercios para que tomen en cuenta la observación y hagan los trámites pertinentes.
