Presidente Nayib Bukele presenta el centro penitenciario más grande de Centroamérica

El presidente de la República, Nayib Bukele ha presentado junto autoridades de justicia y seguridad el Centro de Confinamiento para el Terrorismo más grande de Centroamérica.

Dicho centro penitenciario ha sido construido en un área aproximada de 33 manzanas, en la jurisdicción de Tecoluca, San Vicente;  lugar donde según el director de Centros Penales, Osiris Luna Meza, ingresarán peligrosos gatilleros, corredores de programas y ranfleros de las estructuras terroristas que operan en El Salvador.

El nuevo Centro de Confinamiento para el Terrorismo cuenta con una nueva modalidad de registros de ingresos, ya que a través de equipos tecnológicos de escáner de cuerpo completo, escáner paquetero y arco metálico, se verificará que los delincuentes no ingresen objetos ilícitos, ni manuscritos como medida preventiva para garantizar el orden.

“Dentro y fuera de las instalaciones del Centro de Confinamiento para el Terrorismo , más de 600 soldados de la Fuerza Aérea (FAES) y 250 efectivos de la Policía Nacional Civil (PNC) apoyarán 24/7 en las tareas de seguridad para atender cualquier posible disturbio”, dijo el director de Centros Penales, Osiris Luna Meza.

Además, el CECOT contará con pelotones distribuidos en todo el perímetro que se mantendrán alerta las 24 horas del día. Por otra parte, el director de Centros Penales explicó que los reos saldrán de sus celdas únicamente por dos razones, cuando realicen actos de mala conducta para ser enviados a celdas de castigo y aislamiento donde no podrán ver la luz del sol.

Asimismo, saldrán para el desarrollo de audiencia, pero al interior del mismo módulo, es decir no serán trasladados del centro penal.  

Según indicó el ministro de Obras Públicas, Romero Rodríguez, la construcción del nuevo centro penitenciario ha sido construido con estándares de construcción internacionales, donde los suministros de agua y energía eléctrica no afecten a las comunidades aledañas.

El ministro de Obras Públicas también explicó que cada pabellón del CECOT donde estarán confinados los terroristas cuenta con: pilas, inodoros, camarotes multinivel, rejas de seguridad, zonas para careo de imputados, salas de audiencia celdas de castigo, sistema de videovigilancia y área médica.

Además, contará con fábrica para 64 talleres: pintura, pupitres, textilería, entre otros.

“Las instalaciones del CECOT han sido diseñadas para que los agentes penitenciarios cuenten con todas las comodidades y facilidades para ejecutar dignamente su labor”, expresó durante el recorrido de las instalaciones el presidente, Nayib Bukele.
