Confirman primer caso de ” Flurona” en el país

Cientos de salvadoreños abarrotaron nuevamente este jueves la capital para realizarse la prueba covid-19, esto en el momentos que se registra en el país un alza en los contagios diarios.

El ministro de Salud, Francisco Alabi, confirmó este jueves 20 de enero de 2022 la detección del primer caso de “flurona” en El Salvador, se conoce la combinación de influenza (gripe) y covid-19.

Durante la entrevista televisiva el titular de Salud aseguró que el caso fue detectado ayer, 19 de enero, y se trata de un paciente de 5 años de edad.

”El miércoles se ha detectado en el país el primer caso de covid-19 en paralelo con influenza, lo que se conoce comúnmente como ”flurona”. Francisco Alabi, Ministro de Salud.

Además el Ministro Alabi reconoció que este caso podría no ser el único caso en el país.

Hizo el llamado a la población para que continuen con los protocolos de bioseguridad personales, como el uso de mascarilla y distanciamiento físico; así como la aplicación de las tres dosis de la vacuna del covid-19.

La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) por su parte sugiere no usar las palabras como “flurona” para hablar de covid-19, debido a que esto implica una combinación de virus o variantes. Aclaró que es más bien una “coinfección” de gripe con covid-19.

Por otra parte el ministro de Salud, Francisco Alabi, confirmó este miércoles la presencia de la variante ómicron del covid-19 desde diciembre de 2021.

Este jueves reconfirmó que existe “evidencia clínica” de casos de ómicron desde el año pasado.
