Anciana envía al hospital a un tipo luego de que este la atacara

La mujer, de 76 años y origen chino, estaba esperando en un semáforo cuando de repente un desconocido le pegó en el ojo sin motivo aparente.

Xiao Zhen Xie lleva 26 años viviendo en San Francisco y quedó profundamente traumatizada después de ser atacada a plena luz del día este miércoles mientras esperaba para cruzar una calle de la ciudad californiana. Un desconocido la pegó en el ojo izquierdo sin motivo aparente, pero la mujer, de 76 años, opuso una resistencia inesperada y acabó dándole una paliza a su agresor.

La repentina activación del instinto de supervivencia de la anciana dejó al atacante con lesiones que lo dejaron hospitalizado. La hija de la mujer contó a KPIX 5 que su madre encontró una tabla de madera al lado y la usó como un arma improvisada para defenderse.

Ahora Xiao, que también requirió asistencia médica en un hospital, tiene el ojo hinchado y no puede ver con él. Según su hija, tampoco ha podido comer y está tan aterrorizada que tiene miedo incluso de salir de casa. La familia empezó a recaudar dinero en la plataforma GoFundMe para costear los gastos médicos.

En un video difundido en redes sociales se puede apreciar al asaltante con la cara ensangrentada y esposado a una camilla. Mientras los paramédicos lo llevan a la ambulancia, la anciana llora, agitando la tabla de madera con la que se defendió, y pregunta en chino: “¿Por qué me golpeaste?”, repitiendo ante una muchedumbre de testigos que el hombre la golpeó.

La Policía aún no ha determinado si el ataque se debió a motivos raciales, pero no fue el único episodio similar ocurrido aquel día en la ciudad, en donde también fue agredido un hombre asiático de 83 años. Los agentes investigan a un varón de 39 años en relación con ambos ataques.
