Lluvias causan caída de árboles e inundaciones en diversos departamentos

Las precipitaciones que han afectado al país en los últimos días han dejado como consecuencia la caída de más de 20 árboles y leves inundaciones en seis departamentos, según informó la Dirección General de Protección Civil en un comunicado emitido este viernes.

El director de la institución, Luis Amaya, detalló que las emergencias se han presentado desde el miércoles pasado, cuando se activó la alerta verde debido a la presencia de la Zona de Convergencia Intertropical (ZCIT).

Durante este período de alerta, que abarca desde el 23 de agosto hasta la fecha, se han registrado un promedio de 25 árboles caídos, algunos de considerables dimensiones, en áreas tanto urbanas como rurales, señaló Amaya.

El departamento de San Miguel encabeza la lista con ocho árboles caídos, de los cuales seis ocurrieron en el municipio de Chirilagua, uno en San Rafael Oriente y otro en la ciudad de San Miguel. En La Unión se contabilizaron tres árboles derribados, mientras que en La Libertad se reportaron dos, destacando por su tamaño. En San Salvador, dos ejemplares cayeron en Ciudad Delgado y el cantón El Carmen.

Además de la caída de árboles, la Protección Civil reportó cinco áreas inundadas en Sonsonate, específicamente en la colonia San Ramón y colonia Nueva Esperanza, ambas en San Antonio del Monte, Nahuizalco. Asimismo, en la avenida San Juan de Nahuizalco, se presentó un pequeño deslizamiento, que fue atendido por las autoridades competentes.
