Asamblea exime impuestos para helicóptero de emergencias

En una reciente sesión plenaria, el Órgano Legislativo decretó la exoneración de impuestos para la importación de un helicóptero modelo UH-UNO H fabricado por Bell Helicopters, destinado al traslado de pacientes en situaciones críticas de salud. Este dictamen, aprobado por unanimidad, busca fortalecer la atención prehospitalaria y de emergencias, permitiendo el traslado rápido y gratuito de pacientes a los centros hospitalarios más cercanos.

Según el decreto, la Dirección del Sistema de Emergencias Médicas del Ministerio de Salud ha identificado una necesidad urgente de contar con un medio de transporte aéreo para el traslado oportuno de pacientes en condiciones críticas, donde cada minuto puede ser crucial para la supervivencia y el éxito del tratamiento. Se espera que esta medida contribuya a mejorar las tasas de sobrevivencia, la calidad de vida y la eficiencia en la atención médica de emergencia.

En la misma sesión, la Asamblea también exoneró impuestos para la importación de una donación de medicamentos realizada por la Fundación MaxAid, consistente en 900 cajas de Glivec FCT 400 mg. y 500 cajas de Glivec FCT 100 mg. Esta exención aplica al Impuesto al Valor Agregado (IVA), derechos arancelarios a la importación (DA9) y costos de bodegaje, con el objetivo de facilitar el acceso a tratamientos farmacológicos para pacientes necesitados.

La diputada Claudia Ortiz, del partido Vamos, expresó su apoyo a la exención de impuestos para la donación de medicamentos, resaltando la importancia de garantizar el acceso a la salud de calidad para todos los ciudadanos.

Cabe destacar que el Ministerio de Salud inició el proceso de contratación directa para la adquisición de un helicóptero en 2022, con el objetivo de fortalecer las capacidades de atención médica de emergencia. En diciembre de 2023, el ministro de Salud, Francisco Alabi, anunció que tres helicópteros estaban disponibles para garantizar una atención médica oportuna y efectiva en todo el país.
