AES El Salvador invierte en tecnología y sostenibilidad para mejorar la distribución eléctrica

AES El Salvador, filial de la multinacional estadounidense AES Corporation, ha anunciado una inversión de $3.3 millones entre 2022 y 2023 con el objetivo de optimizar el servicio eléctrico a sus 1.5 millones de clientes. Esta iniciativa se centra en la creación de un anillo de telecomunicaciones avanzada que permite el monitoreo en tiempo real de 85 subestaciones de manera remota, mejorando la respuesta ante contingencias y garantizando la confiabilidad del servicio eléctrico.

La modernización de la infraestructura de comunicación, a través de la implementación de fibra óptica, forma parte de los esfuerzos de la empresa para asegurar un suministro eléctrico eficiente y resistente a eventos climáticos adversos o fallos técnicos. Además, AES El Salvador se comprometió con la sostenibilidad a través de la promoción de la movilidad eléctrica, anunciando una inversión adicional superior a los $150,000 para la instalación de 10 nuevas estaciones de carga de vehículos eléctricos durante el año 2024.

Esta expansión en la infraestructura de carga eléctrica, que ya cuenta con dos estaciones inauguradas en enero en puntos estratégicos de San Salvador y San Miguel, refleja la apuesta de la compañía por un futuro más verde.
