Un avión de la fuerza aérea dominicana que iba a reforzar la frontera con Haití sufre un accidente y se precipita a tierra

Hasta el momento, no hay ninguna información oficial sobre lo ocurrido y tampoco se han reportado heridos.

Un avión de la Fuerza Aérea Dominicana (FARD) sufrió un accidente y se precipitó a tierra cuando iba a reforzar la frontera con Haití tras el asesinato del presidente Jovenel Moïse.

Medios locales señalan que el suceso ocurrió en la zona fronteriza de Jimaní, en República Dominicana. Las informaciones sobre cómo ocurrió son contradictorias y no queda claro si el accidente tuvo lugar cuando el aparato se disponía a aterrizar o a despegar. 

Hasta el momento, no hay ninguna información oficial y tampoco se han reportado heridos. En las redes sociales ya circulan imágenes y videos en los que se ve el aparato en el suelo.

El mandatario dominicano, Luis Abinader, ordenó este miércoles el “cierre inmediato” de su frontera después del crimen contra su homólogo haitiano. 

República Dominicana calcula que en su territorio hay 500.000 personas de nacionalidad haitiana que se encuentran de manera irregular en esa nación antillana, según la Encuesta Nacional de Inmigrantes.

Abinader tiene intención de construir un muro en su frontera con Haití, con el objetivo de frenar lo que considera “graves problemas de inmigración ilegal”.

Haití es el país más pobre de América Latina y del Caribe. Según el Banco Mundial, con una población total de 11,26 millones, el 60 % de la población haitiana, o 6,3 millones de personas, sigue siendo pobre y un 24 %, o 2,5 millones, se encuentra en situación de pobreza extrema.

La situación económica tras el terremoto de 2010 agravó la pobreza extrema en Haití, que ha visto la migración al país vecino como una posibilidad de mejorar sus precarias condiciones de vida. A este panorama, se le suma la inestabilidad política y la crisis por la pandemia.
