Sismo de 7.4 sacude a México y deja un fallecido

Un sismo de magnitud preliminar 7,4 sacudió este lunes el centro de México justo en el día de los aniversarios de los terremotos del 19 de septiembre de 1985 y de 2017, considerados los dos más destructivos de la historia reciente.

El terremoto ocurrió a las 13.05 horas (18.05 GMT) con epicentro localizado 63 kilómetros al sur de Coalcoman en el estado de Michoacán, occidente de México, de acuerdo con la información preliminar del Servicio Sismológico Nacional (SSN) de México.

En un primer momento, el SSN había registrado la magnitud en el 6,8, para revisarla poco después.

“Vamos a empezar a recoger información, deseamos de todo corazón que no haya pasado nada grave”, expresó el presidente, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, en un primer mensaje desde el Palacio Nacional.

Minutos después el mandatario mexicano confirmó una persona fallecida, la cual cayó de un barandal en un centro comercial.

El fenómeno ocurrió menos de una hora después del macrosimulacro nacional organizado a las 12.19 horas (17.19 GMT) para conmemorar los terremotos del 19 de septiembre de 1985 y 2017.

“Se activaron los protocolos de emergencia por el sismo registrado esta tarde en Michoacán. Protección Civil de Michoacán se mantiene alerta”, escribió en Twitter el Gobierno de ese estado, donde se ubicó el epicentro.

Mientras que la jefa de Gobierno de Ciudad de México, Claudia Sheinbaum, reportó que “hasta el momento no se reportan daños en la Ciudad”, donde “cinco cóndores de la Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana de la Ciudad de México siguen haciendo sobrevuelo”.

“Sismo perceptible. Sonaron alarmas sísmicas. Cóndores sobrevolando. Nos encontramos en C5. Hasta ahora no se reportan daños. En unos minutos más información. El sismo continúa, guarden la calma”, expresó la mandataria capitalina en Twitter.

Otras entidades del sur y Pacífico de México, como Colima y Jalisco, también reportaron que el sismo fue perceptible.

Apenas horas antes, el presidente López Obrador encabezó una ceremonia para recordar a las víctimas de los temblores del 19 de septiembre de 1985 y 2017.

El 19 de septiembre de 1985 el sismo ocurrió a las 7.19 hora local (12.19 GMT) con una magnitud de 8,1 y con epicentro en el estado de Guerrero, en el sur del país, y dejó más de 20.000 muertos, la mayor parte en la capital mexicana.

En la misma fecha, 32 años después, el 19 de septiembre de 2017 un terremoto de magnitud 7,1 y con epicentro entre Puebla y Morelos (centro del país) dejó cerca de 370 muertos, 228 de ellos en Ciudad de México.
