Hallan un nuevo monolito misterioso en una isla al sur de Gran Bretaña

La fiebre de los monolitos ha vivido esta semana un nuevo episodio tras hallarse una nueva estructura en una playa de la sureña isla de Wight, situada a escasos kilómetros al sur de la isla de Gran Bretaña.

Tras descubrirse el primero en mitad del desierto de Utah, otros monolitos han aparecido otros en lugares tan diferentes como California (EE UU), Países Bajos, Rumanía e incluso España, concretamente en el municipio de Ayllón (Segovia).

Varios de ellos han sido reclamados como parte de una acción de un colectivo de artistas denominado The Most Famous Artist, aunque en este caso el autor es un diseñador local de 29 años llamado Tom Dunford, que se ha sumado a la fiebre del monolito.

“Lo hice sencillamente por diversión”, declaraba Dunford en una entrevista: “Cuando vi el primero aparecer, pensé que era brillante. Apareció el segundo y me llegó un mensaje de un amigo diciendo: ‘tú eres el hombre que puede hacer esto en la isla”.

“Me fascina por completo el diseño futurístico, la ciencia y el Espacio. La idea real me saltó cuando caminaba de vuelta de  la oficina”, añade el artista. Para evitar llamar la atención, Dunford lo instaló a las cuatro de la madrugada del domingo, una hora en la que sabía que la playa estaría poco concurrida.
