Elon Musk le devuelve la cuenta de Twitter a Donald Trump

El nuevo propietario de Twitter, Elon Musk, ha anunciado que restablece la cuenta en la red social del expresidente de EE.UU. Donald Trump tras promover una encuesta que ha resultado favorable a esta decisión.

“El pueblo ha hablado. Trump será reintegrado. Vox Populi, Vox Dei”, ha anunciado Musk a través de su cuenta oficial.

Musk promovió una encuesta de 24 horas que terminó este sábado para preguntar si debía volver a la red social el expresidente de EE.UU. Donald Trump, a quien la plataforma suspendió indefinidamente después de vincular sus comentarios con el asalto al Capitolio.

Según los resultados que ha publicado Musk de la encuesta, que ha recibido 15.085.458 votos, el 51,8 % se ha mostrado a favor del restablecimiento de la cuenta a Trump, mientras que el 48,2 % lo ha hecho en contra.

A principio de noviembre, Musk dijo que Twitter “no permitirá” que ninguna persona que haya sido eliminada de la red social por violar sus reglas regrese a la plataforma hasta que la compañía tenga un proceso claro.

El magnate, que compró la red por 44.000 millones de dólares, dijo además en una serie de tuits que “el consejo de moderación de contenido de Twitter integrará representantes con puntos de vista muy divergentes, que sin duda incluirán a la comunidad de derechos civiles y grupos que combaten la violencia alimentada por el odio”.

En el propio tuit publicado a continuación de la encuesta, Musk daba a entender con el mensaje “Vox Populi, Vox Dei!” (frase en latín que significa “la voz del pueblo es la voz de Dios”), que la vuelta de Trump -quien anunció su candidatura a las elecciones presidenciales de 2024 esta semana- dependería del resultado de la encuesta.

Antes de comprar la red social, Musk dijo que entre las personas a las que le daría la bienvenida a Twitter está el expresidente Donald Trump.

Ayer, Musk anunció el desbloqueó de las cuentas en Twitter del escritor Jordan Peterson, la humorista Kathy Griffin y el medio conservador de parodia The Babylon Bee.

Los perfiles de Peterson y Babylon Bee fueron bloqueados por publicar contenido que faltaba el respeto a la comunidad trans, mientras que el de Griffin fue eliminado por hacerse pasar por Musk.
