EE.UU sanciona a minera nicaragüense por vínculos de Ortega con Rusia 

El Departamento del Tesoro de Estados Unidos sancionó este viernes a la empresa Eniminas y a su presidente,  Ruy López, como respuesta ante la decisión del gobierno de Daniel Ortega de  mantener su relación con Rusia , país que se mantiene en guerra contra Ucrania.

“A medida que el régimen de Ortega-Murillo se involucra cada vez más con Rusia y continúa llenando sus arcas con importantes ingresos explotados del sector del oro nicaragüense, el régimen le ha dado la espalda al pueblo nicaragüense, descuidando sus medios de subsistencia por las ganancias del régimen”, indicó un comunicado de  la Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC), dependencia del Departamento del Tesoro estadounidense.

La respuesta de Biden se da luego que el gobierno de Ortega permitiera el ingreso de tropas extranjeras rusas a su territorio con “fines humanitarios”.

Eniminas fue una empresa creada por Daniel Ortega para controlar el sector Minero. Sin embargo, ha equiparado las ganancias de la exportación de oro hacia el país norteamericano. Según  la embajada de Estados Unidos en Nicaragua, la empresa tuvo ingresos por $942 millones de 2021 y los ingresos por su exportación ha crecido a más de 150% desde 2017.

De acuerdo con Voz de América, las sanciones consisten en restringir que estadounidenses inviertan en la empresa Eniminas. Asimismo, si el presidente López tiene propiedades o activos dentro o fuera de Estados Unidos, serán confiscados. De igual manera, ninguna empresa o personal natural podrá recibir transacciones por parte de López o de la compañía.

No es la primera vez que el presidente de la gremial tiene este tipo de transacciones por parte del gobierno estadounidense. Anteriormente, los expresidente de la compañía Ramón Calderon y Francisco López
