Ecuador declara estado de excepción en medio de motines carcelarios

El presidente de Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, anunció este lunes la declaración de un estado de excepción en respuesta a una serie de motines que se desataron en al menos seis cárceles del país. Los disturbios involucraron la retención de guardias penitenciarios y la quema de colchones, llevando al gobierno a movilizar a las Fuerzas Armadas para controlar la situación. Noboa atribuyó la crisis carcelaria a bandas de narcotráfico, sicariato y crimen organizado, y expresó la necesidad de cambios en el sistema legal del país. El estado de excepción otorga poderes a las Fuerzas Armadas para intervenir en el control de las cárceles y restaurar el orden.

Las tensiones carcelarias también coincidieron con la fuga de José Adolfo Macías Salazar, alias “Fito”, líder de la banda “Los Choneros”. Considerada una de las más peligrosas del país con presuntos vínculos con carteles mexicanos, la fuga de “Fito” desató una operación masiva de búsqueda en todo Ecuador. El presidente responsabilizó a bandas criminales por la situación actual y destacó la necesidad de medidas más efectivas para garantizar la seguridad y la paz en el país.

Aunque las autoridades han logrado recuperar la tranquilidad en algunas cárceles, la crisis carcelaria y la fuga de “Fito” plantean desafíos significativos para el gobierno ecuatoriano, que busca restaurar el control en el sistema penitenciario y abordar las amenazas de las organizaciones criminales.
