Desplome de precios del petróleo

Los precios del petróleo experimentaron un nuevo declive este jueves, con el WTI perdiendo hasta un 5% en respuesta al aumento de las reservas comerciales en Estados Unidos y las preocupantes señales sobre la demanda a nivel mundial. Al cierre, el barril de West Texas Intermediate (WTI) para diciembre registró una caída del 4.90%, situándose en $72.82, después de tocar su nivel más bajo desde julio a $72.23 (-5.05%).

El Brent del mar del Norte para enero también sufrió una disminución del 4.63%, cerrando en $77.42, poco después de cotizar a $76.72, marcando así su nivel más bajo desde julio. Lukman Otunuga, de FXTM, explicó que ambos barriles de referencia mundial se ven afectados por datos procedentes de Estados Unidos, donde el informe sobre el aumento de los stocks comerciales de crudo y los temores de una desaceleración económica ya habían ejercido presión sobre los precios el día anterior.

En este contexto, analistas como Stephen Innes de SPI AM señalan que las condiciones de suministro ajustadas esperadas no se materializaron, evidenciadas por los masivos stocks de crudo en Estados Unidos. La incertidumbre sobre una posible intervención de Arabia Saudita y Rusia, líderes de la alianza OPEP+, para frenar la caída de precios añade un elemento crucial al escenario. La próxima reunión ministerial de la OPEP+ está programada para el 26 de noviembre en Viena, dejando al mercado en espera de posibles medidas que estabilicen la situación.
