Conoce dos pueblos de México que no reportan casos de Covid-19

Dos municipios del estado de Oaxaca se encuentran libres de casos confirmados, pese a que el país acumula más de 1,9 millones de infectados.

Dos pequeños municipios del estado de Oaxaca, al sur de México, han cobrado notoriedad en fechas recientes por no reportar casos de covid-19, pese a que la nación acumula 1,9 millones de contagios.

San Francisco del Mar es un municipio de la etnia huave, ubicado en la costa oaxaqueña, en la zona del Istmo de Tehuantepec. Este poblado de 7.000 habitantes, cuya principal actividad económica es la pesca, no registra ningún caso de covid-19 en la actual pandemia.

“Llevamos 10 meses sin un solo caso de covid-19 y eso es valioso, esperamos seguir así al termino de esta contingencia sanitaria”, dijo el alcalde Juan Carlos Vargas Gómez en entrevista con Aristegui Noticias.

Desde que comenzó el brote en otras regiones del país, las autoridades de San Francisco del Mar instalaron un filtro sanitario en las vías de acceso al pueblo, además de implementar medidas básicas de protección, como el portar cubrebocas y usar gel antibacterial.

Pese a no tratarse de medidas extraordinarias, los habitantes del lugar no han registrado ni un solo contagio, aún cuando en diciembre se celebraron algunas fiestas y reuniones familiares.

De este modo, el pueblo ha logrado mantenerse libre de contagios de covid-19, a pesar de que algunos habitantes “no creen en la pandemia”, según apuntó Cecilia López López, encargada del centro de salud de la comunidad huave.

Municipio desolado

Otra localidad sin casos de covid-19 es Santa Magdalena Jicotlán, un municipio de 27 kilómetros cuadrados, localizado en la Región Mixteca Oaxaqueña, que cuenta con 81 habitantes.

La baja densidad de población en Santa Magdalena Jicotlán se debe a que muchos habitantes se ven obligados a salir de la localidad para trabajar.

El reducido tamaño de la población habría facilitado las medidas de distanciamiento social, y por lo tanto, contribuyó a que este municipio no registrara, hasta ahora, ningún contagio hasta el momento.

A nivel nacional, México contabiliza un total de  1.936.013 casos confirmados de coronavirus y 166.731 fallecimientos por esta enfermedad.
