“Gangnam Style” supera 3.000 millones de visitas en YouTube

El video que ostentó durante varios años el récord absoluto de visitas en dicha plataforma, sigue siendo popular cinco años después de su lanzamiento.

El video musical “Gangnam Style” del rapero surcoreano Psy, que ostentó durante varios años el récord absoluto de visitas en YouTube, ha logrado traspasar la cifra de las 3.000 millones de visualizaciones en esta plataforma.

Con su característico “baile del jinete” y un videoclip extravagante, el “Gangnam Style” mantiene su popularidad internacional cinco años después de su lanzamiento y alcanzó las 3.001.210.217 visitas.

La leyenda del ‘Gangnam Style’ es recordada no sólo en YouTube, sino a través de sus premios y las listas de éxitos“, señaló la agencia de representación de Psy, Y.G. Entertainment, en un comunicado.

El “Gangnam Style” salió a la luz en julio de 2012 y su “baile del jinete” se convirtió enseguida en un fenómeno social que muchos fans imitaron a través de vídeos en la misma plataforma y que ocupó los medios de comunicación durante meses.

También fue una de las primeras canciones en popularizar a nivel internacional el “K-pop”, un estilo musical que incorpora diferentes géneros, donde la puesta en escena y la figura del “ídolo” ocupan un papel central.

Las más recientes “Despacito” de Luis Fonsi y “See you again” de Wiz Khalifa son las otras dos canciones más escuchadas de la historia de Youtube, con 4.400 millones y 3.200 millones de reproducciones respectivamente.

Sin embargo, fue precisamente “Gangnam Style” la que hizo historia en esta página web, ya que obligó a Google a reescribir su código para poder contabilizar las visitas máximas de sus videos.

A pesar de que el rapero dijo a principios de año a la revista musical Billboard que estaba listo para seguir adelante tras el éxito del “Gangnam Style”, se hizo eco del récord en sus redes sociales y dio las gracias a sus seguidores.

Actualmente, Psy cuenta con seis videos musicales con más de 100 millones de visualizaciones en Youtube, incluida la canción “Caballero” (“Gentleman”) con más de 1.100 millones de visualizaciones, y será el encargado actuar en los conciertos de Fin de Año de Seúl y Busan.
