“Más feminismo”, lanzan campaña que busca promover el respeto a los derechos de las mujeres

La organizaciones de mujeres “Las Mélidas” y “Fundación Mujeres” lanzaron la campaña “Más feminismo” donde buscan concientizar a la población salvadoreña sobre la importancia de respetar los derechos de las mujeres para evitar las violencias de género en todos los ámbitos de la sociedad. 

Durante el lanzamiento de la campaña las organizadoras resaltaron la necesidad que existe en El Salvador de reproducir un mensaje de concientización para que se visibilice la violencia y por tanto combatirla.  Entre los datos alarmantes que presentaron son los 22 feminicidios contabilizados de enero a mayo de este año.

“Estos datos nos dan una referencia de qué es lo que está pasando en el país, que todavía hace falta hacer más conciencia” Jenniffer Velasquez, comunicadora y consultora de la Asociación Movimiento de Mujeres Mélida Anaya Montes.

Del mismo modo “Más feminismo” busca visibilizar las luchas que las mujeres realizan y las violencias a las que se enfrentan durante toda su vida por la única condición de ser mujer. Amaranta Portillo, presidenta de la junta directiva de Las Mélidas y psicóloga, mencionó que esta campaña tiene el objetivo de visibilizar las problemáticas a las que se enfrentan las mujeres pero también de motivar para poder exigir los cambios necesarios para que los derechos se garanticen a las jóvenes.

La presidenta también cuestionó la postura que el gobierno está tomando respecto a la situación de las mujeres, “Sentimos una pasividad extrema por parte del gobierno en cuanto a los temas que perjudican las vidas de las mujeres”.

El 2022 cerró con 64 feminicidios según el Observatorio de Violencia de Género de la Organización de Mujeres Salvadoreñas (Ormusa) un 51.5 % menos que en el 2021 cuando se registraron 132 feminicidios.
