La jornada de competencias de longboard en El Sunzal ya dio inicio

Este año, El Salvador tiene agendado seis encuentros internacionales de surf, iniciando con el ISA World Longboard Championship, que ya dio inicio contando con 33 delegaciones de participantes.

La Ministra de Turismo, Morena Valdez, informó que es la primera vez que este campeonato en la categoría longboard se realiza en el país, organizado por la Asociación Internacional de Surf (ISA, por sus siglas en inglés).

“Esta es la primera vez que hacemos esta categoría, ya tenemos varios años desde que iniciamos la gestión del Presidente Bukele de realizar estos torneos de surf en conjunto con la ISA, que, con este, es el cuarto torneo de surf, recordemos que nosotros hemos hecho historia siendo los primeros en tener los juegos preolímpicos, el año pasado”, mencionó la Ministra.

Este año, la competencia cuenta con 110 atletas, quienes ya empezaron a mostrar sus mejores hazañas en las olas.

Uno de los representantes de El Salvador, Amado de Jesús Alvarado, finalizó en tercer lugar en su heat, por debajo de el sudamericano Sam Christianson, y el filipino Jomarie Ebueza, quienes obtuvieron el primer y segundo lugar, respectivamente. El salvadoreño aún tiene posibilidades de aparecer en las rondas finales, pero tendrá que enfrentar el repechaje.

“Tenemos a tres atletas nuestros compitiendo, a Sindy, Amado de Jesús y a Gerardo. Les deseamos toda la suerte del mundo, tienen todas las posibilidades, estamos en casa, ahora han sido bastante apoyados por las instituciones del gobierno, sobre todo por el INDES y el Comité Olímpico”, señaló Valdez.

El desarrollo de estas actividades en territorio nacional refuerzan el turismo local, posicionando los atractivos naturales. Además, el Gobierno busca la promoción de estos eventos deportivos y este campeonato es muestra de ello.
