Despliegue masivo de fuerzas de seguridad en Nueva Concepción, Chalatenango, tras el ataque letal a un agente policial

En respuesta al ataque mortal contra el agente Máximo Antonio Vásquez Rodríguez durante un patrullaje, más de 5,000 soldados y 500 policías han sido desplegados en el municipio de Nueva Concepción, Chalatenango. El presidente Nayib Bukele informó sobre esta medida a través de sus redes sociales, señalando que se ha establecido un cerco de seguridad alrededor del municipio.

Las fuerzas militares y policiales están llevando a cabo operaciones para capturar a los otros responsables del ataque en el cantón El Zapote. Según las autoridades de seguridad, pandilleros aún se encuentran escondidos en la zona. Uno de los atacantes fue capturado después del homicidio, según informó la PNC. Además de buscar a los delincuentes en Nueva Concepción, también se realizarán búsquedas en municipios vecinos, agregaron las autoridades.

Desde temprano en la mañana, se ha implementado un control estricto en las entradas y salidas del municipio, verificando a las unidades de transporte de pasajeros, motociclistas, vehículos particulares y camiones de carga.

El presidente Bukele manifestó en su tuit que los responsables pagarán un alto precio por el asesinato del agente, que es el primer policía asesinado por pandilleros desde la aprobación del régimen de excepción el año pasado. Cabe destacar que el homicidio ocurrió el mismo día en que se presentó la decimocuarta prórroga del régimen de excepción por parte del gabinete de Seguridad, la cual fue aprobada por la Asamblea Legislativa.

Este despliegue de fuerzas militares en distintas comunidades del país ha generado controversia y críticas por parte de algunos sectores de la sociedad. El abogado penalista y docente de la UCA, Oswaldo Feusier, ha expresado previamente su preocupación, señalando que la medida refleja características propias de un Estado autoritario que busca resolver sus problemas mediante la violencia armada y el uso del ejército.
