Subastan guitarra destrozada de Kurt Cobain por 595 mil dólares

Una guitarra Fender Stratocaster destrozada de Kurt Cobain, integrante de Nirvana, se vendió en una subasta por 595,900 dólares, más de diez veces su estimación original.

La emblemática guitarra eléctrica del líder de Nirvana se rompió mientras los pioneros del grunge grababan su álbum Nevermind a principios de los años noventa. Se esperaba que se vendiera por entre 60,000 y 80,000 dólares en la subasta que Julien’s celebró el fin de semana en el Hard Rock Cafe de Nueva York.

Lleva las firmas de los tres miembros de Nirvana — Cobain, Krist Novoselic y Dave Grohl — junto con una inscripción de Cobain dirigida al fallecido cantante de Screaming Trees, Mark Lanegan. Según Julien’s Auctions, Cobain regaló la guitarra a Lanegan durante la gira Nevermind de Nirvana en 1992.

Cobain, que se quitó la vida en 1994 a los 27 años, era famoso por sus frenéticas actuaciones y destrozó varias Stratocasters durante su influyente carrera.

La lista de canciones manuscrita de Nirvana del debut de la banda “Smells Like Teen Spirit” en 1991 también se vendió en la misma subasta el sábado por 50,800 dólares, doce veces su estimación original.

La guitarra que Cobain tocó durante un legendario concierto acústico en MTV Unplugged en 1993, sólo cinco meses antes de su muerte, se vendió hace dos años por seis millones de dólares.

A lo largo de los dos días que duró la subasta de Julien’s se vendió una gran cantidad de recuerdos musicales, como guitarras tocadas por Bono y Eddie Van Halen, y la chaqueta de la gira mundial Dangerous de Michael Jackson.
