“Pinocchio” de Guillermo del Toro gana Globo de Oro por mejor película de animación

El cineasta mexicano Guillermo del Toro fue galardonado este martes con el Globo de Oro a la mejor película de animación por su versión de Pinocho.

El mexicano, que estaba nominado a tres categorías, logró este reconocimiento en la 80 ceremonia de estos premios con uno de sus filmes más personales.

“Ha sido un gran año para el cine de todos los tamaños. Un año de grandes cambios, de películas ambiciosas y de películas íntimas, y por lo tanto ha sido un gran año para la animación porque la animación es cine”, apuntó el director al recoger el premio.

Del Toro regresó a esta ceremonia después de que en 2018 se convirtiera en el tercer director latino en conseguir el galardón de mejor director con “The Shape of Water” en estos premios organizados por la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood y considerados la antesala de los Óscar.

“Pinocchio” es uno de los filmes más personales del cineasta y le tomó la mitad de su carrera. Aspiraba a ganar esta noche también los premios a la mejor banda sonora y mejor canción original, que finalmente no logró.

La película de Netflix, que es una coproducción entre Estados Unidos, México y Francia, también fue dirigida por Mark Gustafson y está basada en el cuento de Carlo Collodi, pero ambientada en el contexto de la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945).
