J Balvin se reúne con el papa en el Vaticano: “Estoy seguro que le gusta el reguetón”

El cantante y compositor colombiano J Balvin participó hoy con otros artistas en una reunión con el papa Francisco en el Vaticano de más de dos horas y aseguró que al pontífice “le gusta el reguetón” y que tuvo “una buena conexión” con él.

“Estoy seguro que le gusta el reguetón. Si le gusta el fútbol, le gusta el reguetón”, dijo J Balvin a un grupo reducido de medios, entre ellos EFE, tras su reunión con Francisco. “Estuve hablando con él y tuvimos muy buena conexión, le voy a regalar un disco para que lo tenga”, añadió riendo.

J Balvin participó con otros artistas, como los mexicanos Eduardo Verástegui y Alexander Acha, en un encuentro convocado por la Fundación Vitae, que quiere estudiar “cómo se pueden aprovechar las artes, medios y el entretenimiento para promover la unidad, la esperanza y el encuentro entre las personas a nivel global”.

El productor expresó que su encuentro con Francisco “fue brutal”. “Solo el hecho de ver al papa Francisco te llena de satisfacción y además me enorgullece también que sea el primer papa latino”, dijo. “El papa Francisco ha aportado algo nuevo al Vaticano, a la religión católica y es ejemplar su humildad”, agregó.

Sobre lo que se habló durante la reunión, el cantante destacó: “Yo puedo ayudar con mi música, con mis conciertos. La música es un medio para mandar mensajes positivos. Creo que puedo lanzar un buen mensaje con mis canciones, en las que se pueda hablar del amor, porque creo que Dios es amor y compasión”.

A los jóvenes, J Balvin recomendó que escuchen o lean las entrevistas a Francisco para que puedan entender su mensaje porque es “un papa totalmente diferente a los anteriores”.

“Para mi este es el papa más ‘cool'”, añadió el artista, que elogió que la forma que tiene el papa de hablar con los jóvenes “sea tan real”.

“Es ‘cool’ porque se muestra como es, con esta posición de tanta responsabilidad y privilegio actúa como si fuera la misma persona que salió de su barrio y esto es lo que todo el mundo dice . Es genuino, no pretende cambiar su esencia por ser el papa”, explicó J Balvin, que parecía emocionado tras la cita.

Durante la reunión, que fue a puerta cerrada, el papa Francisco les dirigió algunas palabras y después mantuvo un diálogo con todos ellos, preguntándoles qué podían aportar ellos para conseguir más belleza en el mundo o cómo podían tener un mayor compromiso, señalaron a EFE algunos de los participantes.

En un breve comunicado, el Vaticano informó de que el papa les indicó algunos caminos de comunicación, “como la verdad, el bien y, particularmente para los artistas, la belleza, un camino de contemplación”.

“¡Ustedes son predicadores de la belleza!” les dijo el papa, y añadió: “¡La belleza es buena, la belleza cura, la belleza te lleva adelante en el camino!”.
