Disney plus expandirá el universo ‘Star Wars’

Disney anunció una expansión total de Star Wars a través de Disney Plus. Estas son todas las series que vienen en camino.

Tal y como se esperaba, Disney anunció nuevas series de Star Wars durante el Investor Day. Sin embargo, nadie esperaba que fuera una avalancha de producciones. Disney no se guardó nada y presentó las siguientes producciones para la pantalla chica: A Droid StoryLandoAhsokaRangers of the New RepublicThe AcolyteVisionsAndorBad Batch y Obi-Wan Kenobi. Cabe mencionar, sin embargo, que las dos últimas ya se habían anunciado con anterioridad. Te contamos lo que se sabe hasta el momento de cada una.

A Droid Story

A Droid Story será una serie animada que tendrá como protagonistas R2D2 y C3PO, los legendarios droides de Star Wars y eternos acompañantes de Anakin Skywalker y Luke Skywalker. La animación será responsabilidad de Lucasfilm Animation e ILM. “Este viaje épico presentará a un nuevo héroe guiado por nuestro dúo más icónico en una misión secreta que solo ellos conocen. ¿Qué podría salir mal?”, mencionan.

Lando

Una de las mayores sorpresas de la tercera trilogía de Star Wars fue el regreso de Lando Calrissian. Resulta que el personaje no quedará limitado a una sola aparición, pues tendrá su propia serie en Disney Plus. Ojo, por el momento se desconoce si será interpretado por Billy Dee Williams o Donald Glover. A este último lo vimos en Solo: Una historia de Star Wars.

Ahsoka

Tras aparecer en uno de los mejores capítulos de The Mandalorian hasta la fecha, era un hecho que Ahsoka Tano iba a tener su propia serie. Pocos personajes de Star Wars se la merecen tanto como ella. Evidentemente, el personaje será interpretado por Rosario Dawnson.

Rangers of the New Republic

Mucho ojo con Rangers of the New Republic, porque Disney indicó que en algún punto su historia coincidirá con la de The Mandalorian —igual que Ahsoka—. Así pues, en algún momento tendremos un crossover con sus personajes. Por el momento no tenemos más información al respecto.

The Acolyte

The Acolyte es la serie de Star Wars de Leslye Headland, conocida también por ser la showrunner de Russian Doll de Netflix. Además, será la primera adaptación de The High Republic, la nueva etapa narrativa de Star Wars. “Es un thriller de misterio que llevará a los espectadores a una galaxia de oscuros secretos y poderes emergentes del lado oscuro en los últimos días de la era de la Alta República”.

Visions

Visions es un anime de Star Wars que estará centrada en los Jedi y llegará el próximo año en una fecha todavía por determinar. ” Es una serie original de cortos animados que celebra la galaxia a través de la perspectiva de los mejores creadores de anime japoneses del mundo”.

Andor

Andor ya la conocíamos desde 2019. Es la serie del Capitán Cassian Andor, uno de los protagonistas de Rogue One: Una historia de Star Wars. El mexicano Diego Luna nuevamente se pondrá en los pies del personaje. Andor se estrenará de forma exclusiva en Disney Plus en 2021.

Bad Batch

Bad Batch se anunció a mediados del presente año con la siguiente sinopsis: “Los miembros de Bad Batch, un escuadrón único de clones que difieren genéticamente de sus hermanos en el Ejército de Clones, poseen una habilidad excepcional y singular que los convierte en soldados extraordinariamente efectivos y en una tripulación formidable. En la era posterior a la Guerra de los Clones, emprenderán audaces misiones mercenarias mientras luchan por mantenerse a flote y encontrar un nuevo propósito”. La serie animada se estrena a principios de 2021.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi es probablemente la serie de Star Wars más esperada en la actualidad. Durante el Investor Day, Disney confirmó que Hayden Christensen volverá a ser Darth Vader en dicho contenido. Sí, los rumores se hicieron realidad. Además, se ambientará 10 años después de los sucesos de Star Wars: La venganza de los Sith.
