Real Madrid quedaría fuera de las actuales semifinales de la Champions League

Esta declaración la ha hecho el miembro del comité ejecutivo de la entidad, Jesper Moller, luego que dichos clubes se unieran a otros grandes equipos europeos en la iniciativa de crear una nueva Superliga.

El Real Madrid, Manchester City y Chelsea probablemente serán excluidos de las semifinales de la Liga de Campeones de esta temporada (2020/21), afirmó este lunes Jesper Moller, miembro del comité ejecutivo de la UEFA.

“Los clubes deben irse y espero que esto ocurra el viernes. Luego tendremos que averiguar cómo terminar el torneo de la Liga de Campeones [esta temporada]”, declaró a la emisora danesa DR.

El también presidente de la Unión Danesa de Fútbol señaló que el Comité Ejecutivo de la UEFA celebrará una reunión extraordinaria este viernes, en la que abordará la cuestión.

La declaración se produce después de que estos clubes se unieran a otros grandes equipos europeos en la iniciativa de crear una nueva competición: la Superliga. La nueva competición cuenta de momento con 12 clubes fundadores: Atlético de Madrid, Real Madrid, Barcelona (España), Milán, Inter, Juventus (Italia), Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United y Tottenham Hotspur (Inglaterra). Se planea que otros 3 equipos más se unan, mientras que otros 5 adicionales se clasificarían anualmente basándose en sus resultados durante la temporada anterior.

El anuncio sobre la creación del nuevo torneo provocó una fuerte crítica por parte de la FIFA y la UEFA, así como de las ligas nacionales.
