Atlas goleó el viernes 3-0 como visitante a Necaxa con dos tantos del colombiano Julián Quiñones en la novena jornada del torneo Grita México A21.

Los “Rojinegros” del Atlas, que registran cinco partidos sin perder, llegaron a 16 puntos para ubicarse momentáneamente en el tercer lugar de la tabla general, por abajo de América y Toluca que tienen 20 y 17 unidades, respectivamente.

“El equipo empezó a crecer y eso es lo que quiero rescatar, la idea es llegar y lastimar, y realmente hoy lo hicimos. Queremos un equipo competitivo, los resultados y las formas se están dando”, dijo el director técnico de Atlas, el argentino Diego Cocca.

“Estamos en pleno proceso de crecimiento, hay que seguir trabajando con la misma humildad, el crecimiento constante es lo más difícil y es lo que reconozco de mis jugadores, que nunca bajan los brazos. Hay una evolución por la mentalidad, pero no se ha logrado nada, hay mucho camino por recorrer”, apuntó.

Quiñones anotó su primer gol a los 23 minutos con un vistoso remate de volea tras pase del argentino Julio César Furch, quien metió el segundo tanto a los 35 minutos al definir ante la salida del portero Luis Malagón tras hacer jugada de pared con Quiñones.

El delantero colombiano registró su doblete a los 47 minutos con un remate de cabeza después de un rechace defensivo tras disparo de Diego Barbosa.

La jornada continuará el sábado con los partidos entre León-Juárez, Toluca-América, Guadalajara-Pachuca y Mazatlán-Pumas UNAM.

El domingo, el vigente campeón Cruz Azul enfrentará a Querétaro, Monterrey jugara ante Tigres UANL y Santos Laguna será rival de Puebla.

En el inicio de la jornada, Atlético de San Luis goleó el jueves 4-1 a Tijuana con un triplete del argentino Germán Berterame.
