El año 2021 según Nostradamus: asteroides, zombis y hambruna

¿Esperaban al 2021 con esperanza e ilusión? No es algo que suelan hacer los seguidores de las profecías más catastróficas, que son más dados a emocionarse con la posibilidad de que pasen cosas malas. Para gustos, los colores.

De entre los videntes, Nostradamus no era el más optimista. El filósofo francés llenó sus cuartetas poéticas de Les Prophéties (Las profecías) de versos que anunciaban catástrofes de todos los tipos, como si fueran un catálogo de futuras películas de Roland Emmerich.

En cualquier caso, sus predicciones están muy sujetas a la interpretación que se hace de ellas, pues siempre son ambiguas y a menudo dependen de quién las atribuye a qué y a cuando.

Ahora, algunos de sus supuestos estudiosos se han referido a las profecías que Nostradamus, que murió en 1566, habría dejado para el 2021 y, aunque no sea una sorpresa, no son nada halagüeñas.

“Pocos jóvenes: medio muertos para empezar“, dice en algunos de sus versos, atribuidos por portales como Yearly-Horoscope al 2021. “Padres y madres muertos de infinitos dolores / Mujeres de luto, la pestilente monstruosa: / El Grande no será más, todo el mundo se acabará”, escribió con su habitual pesimismo el poeta.

Muchos, seguramente fans de las películas de muertos vivientes, han equiparado esta predicción con la llegada del apocalipsis zombi, aunque también valiera para predecir una resaca. Y no sólo eso, también han querido ver en esas palabras una advertencia sobre la llegada del coronavirus, por más que esos versos valgan para anunciar casi cualquier desastre en casi cualquier momento.

Y por si nos faltaran malos presagios, también sus seguidores han querido ver el anuncio de una hambruna, pues al parecer hasta ahora era un problema inexistente: “Después de un gran problema para la humanidad, se prepara uno mayor”, escribió Nostradamus. “El Gran Motor renueva las edades: / Lluvia, sangre, leche, hambre, acero y plaga”, añadió.

Y por si fuera poco, el 2021 traerá también un meteorito asesino: “¿Se ve el fuego del cielo, una larga chispa encendida? / En el cielo, se ve fuego y una larga estela de chispas“, dice en otros de sus funestos augurios.

Nostradamus, que era poco dado a predecir buenas noticias, a menudo es interpretado con una libertad poco fiable, pues sus versos son muy vagos y válidos para casi cualquier tragedia sucedida en cualquier lugar y en cualquier momento.
