El expresidente Donald Trump devolvió el pasado mes de enero 15 cajas con documentos que se llevó de la Casa Blanca tras dejar la presidencia un año antes, y que por ley deberían haber seguido bajo custodia del Gobierno federal. Un documento judicial conocido este viernes aporta información sobre lo que contenían esas 15 cajas: 14 de ellas tenían en total 184 papeles clasificados; 67 marcados como confidenciales, 92 secretos, y 25 como máximo nivel de secreto.
El Departamento de Justicia sospechó que Trump aún guardaba más documentos secretos además de los que entregó, así que presentó una petición a un juez de Florida para que permitiera un registro de agentes del FBI en busca de esos papeles. El cateo se realizó a inicios de agosto, y este viernes el juez permitió publicar la petición del Departamento de Justicia que lo justificó.
En ese documento, de 36 páginas (una gran parte censurada, con permiso del juez, para evitar desvelar información sensible que ponga en peligro la investigación criminal en curso), fue donde, además de detalles sobre el cateo de agosto, se reveló nueva información sobre los documentos que se incautaron en enero.
La preocupación expresada por los Archivos Nacionales tras revisar los documentos fue la que justificó en parte el registro de agosto. Pero ¿qué contenían entonces esos papeles secretos?
Evidentemente su contenido no se ha revelado, pero sí algunas etiquetas que tenían esas cajas, entre ellas HCS (las sigas de Humint Control System), una designación para un informe de un agente de la CIA o de la DIA (Agencia de Inteligencia de Defensa) basada en conversaciones con una fuente en otro país, es decir, un espía.
Otras etiquetas eran ORCON (Originator Control), un informe que solo puede ser revelado por la agencia que lo produjo; NOFORN, que no puede ser compartido con ciudadanos extranjeros; FISA, relativo a la ley de Monitoreo de Inteligencia Extranjera; y Si, señales de inteligencia, por ejemplo, comunicaciones interceptadas.
También se encontraron notas de Trump escritas a mano, sin que se especificara su contenido.
