Aunque han existido desde siempre con distintos nombres, en los últimos años se conoce como ‘sugar daddy’ al hombre mayor con alto poder adquisitivo que apoya económicamente a una o varias mujeres jóvenes a cambio de su compañía. La tecnología hizo más fácil conectar a las ‘sugar babies’ con los maduritos que las buscan, pero Google Play Store decidió poner un alto y eliminará las dating apps de ‘sugar daddies’ de su catálogo.
El gigante tecnológico optó por salir de la cadena que facilita los encuentros de ésta índole, retirando de Google Play Store las llamadas aplicaciones de ‘sugar dating’.
El veto a las apps de citas de ‘sugar daddies’ no responde a un capricho, sino a que éstas infringen las nuevas políticas de la plataforma, que entrarán en vigor el próximo 1 de septiembre.
“Nos encontramos actualizando la política de contenido inapropiado para instituir nuevas restricciones en el contenido sexual, que prohíben específicamente las relaciones sexuales compensadas (es decir, ‘sugar dating’)”, explican desde Google.
Este cambio tiene como objetivo garantizar que Google Play Store siga siendo una plataforma respetuosa y segura. Por ello, tampoco se permitirán apps que promuevan o alberguen “contenido sexual y blasfemias” o que ofrezcan servicios de acompañantes u otros que se puedan interpretar como encuenros íntimos a cambio de una recompensa.
De acuerdo al comunicado de Google, también violarán sus nuevas políticas las “Representaciones de desnudez sexual o poses sugerentes en las que la persona se encuentre desnuda, con mínima ropa o borrosa”. Sin embargo,la empresa propiedad de Alphabet Inc. aclara que “se puede permitir contenido que contenga desnudos si el propósito principal es documental, educativo, artístico, científico y no es gratuito”.
Las nuevas políticas de Google también prohíben las apps relacionadas con discursos de odio, violencia, eventos sensibles (desastres naturales, atrocidades, crisis de salud, conflictos, muertes u otro evento trágico), bullying y acoso, productos peligrosos, tabaco, alcohol y marihuana. Además, contempla la suspensión de cuentas de desarrollador que se encuentren abandonadas o inactivas luego de un año de inactividad y la implementación de nuevos requisitos en las políticas familiares sobre los identificadores utilizados en las aplicaciones dirigidas a los/las menores de edad.
Por esta razón, a partir del 1 de septiembre se eliminarán de Google Play Store todas las apps de ‘sugar daddies’ y muchas más.
Si bien las apps de ‘sugar dating’ seguirán disponibles en otras tiendas de aplicaciones o en la página web oficial de cada una, la decisión de Google podría hacer que plataformas como App Store de Apple consideren vetarlas también, con el fin de evitar promover prácticas tan cuestionables como polémicas.
