El incidente tuvo lugar en una comunidad cerrada de lujo
Dos agentes del FBI murieron y otros tres resultaron heridos durante un tiroteo en Florida mientras cumplían una orden de arresto, según el FBI.
Los disparos comenzaron alrededor de las 06:00 hora local (11:00 GMT) en la ciudad de Sunrise mientras los agentes investigaban un caso de abuso infantil, dijeron funcionarios estadounidenses.
El sospechoso también ha muerto. Cuando se le preguntó cuántas balas se dispararon, un oficial de policía respondió: “Demasiadas para contar”.
El tiroteo tuvo lugar en una comunidad privada de lujo al norte de Miami.
Un comunicado del FBI dijo que dos de los agentes habían sido trasladados al hospital y se encontraban en condición estable. El tercer agente herido no requirió hospitalización, dijo el FBI.
Según el Miami Herald, el sospechoso estuvo atrincherado dentro de una casa durante varias horas antes de dispararse y suicidarse.

El tiroteo tuvo lugar en el complejo de apartamentos Water Terrace, a unas 10 millas (16 km) al noroeste de Fort Lauderdale. La comunidad de lujo cuenta con un gimnasio, piscina, spa y canchas de tenis, según su sitio web.
“De acuerdo con la política del FBI, el incidente del tiroteo está siendo investigado por la División de Inspección del FBI”, dijo el FBI. “El proceso de revisión es completo y objetivo y se lleva a cabo de la manera más rápida posible dadas las circunstancias”.
El director del FBI, Christopher Wray, identificó a los dos agentes como Dan Alfin y Laura Schwartzenberger, quienes trabajaron durante años para combatir la pornografía infantil en Florida.
“El agente especial Alfin y el agente especial Schwartzenberger ejemplificaron hoy el heroísmo en defensa de su país”, dijo. “El FBI siempre honrará su máximo sacrificio y siempre estará agradecido por su valentía”.
El Departamento de Policía de Sunrise ha cerrado varias carreteras en el área. Han instado a los residentes cercanos a permanecer en el interior debido a la “investigación en curso”.
La portavoz de la policía de Sunrise, Otishia Browning-Smith, dijo que “había demasiados [disparos] para contar”.
Julius McLymont, un residente del complejo, dijo a Associated Press que escuchó que el tiroteo comenzaba con una descarga inicial de cuatro disparos. Primero pensó que podría haber sido un auto contraproducente hasta que unos dos minutos más tarde sonaron cinco disparos más.
McLymont dijo que vio a oficiales con equipo Swat cargando a una persona herida en una ambulancia a medida que llegaban más equipos de emergencia.
