La alcaldía de Nuevo Cuscatlán es la que menos información pública brinda

Según IAIP (Instituto de Acceso a la Información Pública) donde destaca que dos de las alcaldías que menos información pública brindan y que no cumplen con la ley de Acceso a la Información Pública son las de Nuevo Cuscatlán y la de San Salvador.

Los gobiernos locales todavía se resisten a entregar información y poner a disposición de la ciudadanía la información correspondiente, dijeron los comisionados del Instituto de Acceso a la Información Pública (IAIP).

La Alcaldía Municipal de Nuevo Cuscatlán, La Libertad, es la comuna que más faltas de respuesta a  información registra, a nivel nacional se reportan 19 casos, informó el IAIP.

En estos casos la ciudadanía solicita información y la alcaldía está obligada, a dar información a quién la solicite.

La Alcaldía de San Salvador, es la que más casos por apelaciones tiene registrados, con 29 expedientes.

La comisionada Herminia Funes manifestó que les preocupa que las autoridades de las alcaldías municipales se continúen sintiendo dueños de la información.

“En los últimos meses muchas municipalidades no están dando cumplimiento a la ley, es decir, se incrementa cada vez más el número de casos en el instituto en los que el ciudadano acude ante las alcaldías, solicitan información y muchas de estas les es negada, o se les da de manera incompleta,

Los comisionados del IAIP expresaron que en las autoridades municipales falta compromiso para adquirir capacitaciones sobre la aplicación de la Ley de Acceso a la Información Pública (LAIP).

Debido a la falta de conocimientos que tienen sobre el tema, cuando los ciudadanos elevan los casos al instituto las autoridades alegan no tener conocimiento de la ley.

Entre 2013 y 2015 el IAIP ha interpuesto 15 multas a miembros de concejos, oficinas de información de alcaldías.

El monto total de las multas asciende a $63,709.20. El IAIP informó que no tienen registro que alguna de las sanciones haya sido ya cancelada.

La comisionada explicó que ya que el caso se cerró con una sanción monetaria le corresponde a la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) intervenir para que dicha multa sea cancelada.
